Mbulaheni Nthangeni, PhD
Dr Nthangeni has a distinguished career in academia and the public service that spans four decades. He holds degrees in Mathematical Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial and Systems Engineering, and Research and Evaluation Methodology.
Dr Nthangeni served as a distinguished scholar as Director of the School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences at the University of Limpopo following his tenure at the University of Cape Town.
Dr Nthangeni has extensive experience in public service, at Statistics South Africa, having managed human capacity building and the development of statistical standards while providing professional support to the branch of Methodology, Standards and Research.
Dr Nthangeni served as President of the South African Statistical Association (SASA) in 2004 and as President, he championed a drive to encouraged statistics departments at tertiary institutions to develop programmes that directly address the need of statistics in the workplace.
Dr Nthangeni is an accomplished researhcer, a dedicated mentor of graduate students, and a prolific writer having publisheshed numerous papers in accredited journals.
