Dr Aka is a distinguished law professor and Fulbright Scholar who is known as an interdisciplinary researcher. With a background in political science and law, Dr Aka served as Dean of Faculty of Law.

Having obtained two doctorate degrees, in law and political science, from reputable U.S. institutions, Dr Aka brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to academic administration, beyond his teaching and research endeavors. Dr Aka has consistently demonstrates his commitment to interdisciplinary research and collaboration, with stellar examples in bioethics, AI, peace studies, and humor in pedagogy.

Dr Aka’s timely and significant research on healthcare, particularly Ghana’s National Health Insurance Scheme and healthcare in Bosnia demonstrates his commitment to generating socially and politically impactful research through an understanding of law and social sciences.

Dr Aka is globally known for his service, his prolific publication record, and his frequent international talks. He serves as an External Examiner for the Center for International Affairs and Diplomacy at the University of Ghana at Legon. His latest book in a serias of many, “Navigating the Tension Between Sovereignty and Self-determination in Post-Colonial Africa: Blueprints for the Midcentury” is forthcoming from Palgrave Macmillan. His latest talk on healthcare in Nigeria and Kenya is scheduled for Fall 2023 at the University of Bremen, Germany
